Tech Lead and Solutions Architect based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Shipping production software since 2017 across teams in Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Luxembourg — fintech, hospitality, and logistics. Electrical Engineering grad, self-taught into software the long way.
Currently at Moby Money. Quietly listening for the right opportunity — fintech leadership, advisory, or interesting infra work. Off-hours I mentor on ADPList, contribute to the Laravel community, and disappear into open water and hill trails.
Fintech infrastructure built the way it should be: correctness first, every decision written down. Built in the open, shipping weekly, with a companion book.

go-ledger
A production-grade double-entry payment ledger, in Go.
Live in production · built in the open · shipping weekly
Double-entry at the core — every transaction sums to zero, enforced in Go types and again by a Postgres CHECK constraint.
Atomic posting under concurrency — SERIALIZABLE isolation with ordered row locks, stress-tested against thousands of concurrent posts.
Idempotency keys and an append-only audit log, so retries are safe and history stays immutable.
One trace from HTTP to SQL — OpenTelemetry spans, structured slog, Prometheus RED metrics.
REST and gRPC over one shared domain core, with an OpenAPI playground you can run against the live API.
Leading engineering on a regional digital-money product. Architecting payment rails, compliance flows, and a resilient cloud backbone for a Malaysian fintech.
Built a high-volume top-up and remittance dashboard for a consumer fintech serving multiple operator corridors. Designed and built the core APIs, and owned provisioning, reconciliation, and reporting.
Delivered an HRM platform and an e-commerce stack across multiple client deployments. Stood up the agency’s first production-grade DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Logistics and shipment tracking for a UK-facing freight operator. The role that taught me production code is a contract with everyone downstream.

06 — Case Studies
Systems I’ve architected.
A few systems I’ve owned end to end — the problem, the constraints, the call I made, and how it held up. Kept high-level; specifics are under NDA.
01Fintech · Payment Gateway
A payment gateway for Malaysia
Moby Money · Tech Lead · Dec 2023 — now
Problem
Accept and route many payment methods — card, wallet, bank transfer, QR, BNPL, Islamic (Shariah-compliant) BNPL, and VISA IPP — through one gateway for the Malaysian market.
Constraints
Many payment-method integrations, Shariah compliance for Islamic BNPL, and high availability with elastic scale under transaction spikes.
Approach
Architected the gateway and its event-driven core from scratch across multiple services; each payment method is a pluggable adapter, deployed on AWS ECS with auto-scaling.
02Hospitality · Platform
A multi-tenant booking platform for three audiences
DèsVu Stays · Lead Software Developer · Sep 2022 — Aug 2023
Problem
Serve property owners, guests, and operators — each with distinct workflows — from one product, without forking per tenant.
Constraints
Tenant data isolation, three distinct UX surfaces, and a single codebase that stays maintainable as features grow.
Approach
Domain-driven design with bounded contexts per role, a shared core with tenant-scoped data, and a Laravel API behind React surfaces.
03Fintech · Remittance
Cross-border remittance, EU to Africa
Mobile TopUp · Senior Software Engineer · Oct 2020 — Jun 2022
Problem
Move money from the EU to Africa, paying out across many banks, e-wallets, and cash-withdrawal points.
Constraints
Many payout-rail integrations, settlement accuracy, compliance, and reliable delivery per corridor.
Approach
Per-rail payout adapters for bank, e-wallet, and cash; queue-driven processing; split across two codebases — a React Native app and a Laravel API.

I had the privilege of working closely with Sohag at Moby Money where he served as a tech lead under my supervision. From the start it was clear he was a standout — a rare ability to pick up new technologies at impressive speed. He's also familiar with DevOps, and his willingness to jump in and resolve server or deployment issues speaks volumes about his dedication. I see a lot of myself in Sohag and wholeheartedly recommend him for any tech-lead role.
Sohag is highly skilled across PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, and even Go — also a Certified Laravel Developer and DevOps enthusiast. Whenever the team encounters a challenging issue, Sohag is the first to step in and provide guidance, often simplifying complex problems and offering practical solutions. His approachability and willingness to support everyone make him a trusted leader on our team.
Sohag's intelligence and leadership made complex situations easier. We worked together to launch products at Mobypay — very few people get the opportunity to work with a programmer this talented and skilled.
Sohag seamlessly bridges the gap between frontend and backend development, resulting in cohesive and efficient software systems. His strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail ensure projects are not only completed on time but also exceed expectations. Excellent communication and a collaborative mindset — consistently engages to understand requirements thoroughly and offers innovative solutions.
Published when I actually have something worth writing down — infra, DevOps, and the gotchas I had to figure out the hard way. Cadence is irregular by design.
